Who is he ?

I look back and try to retrace those moments
That melted even faster than the flames first caught fire,
When bright ember eyes sparked with so much life
And tinder teased in laughter ready to ignite
Remembering rekindles the joys of innocence
Fueling the feelings of freedom in childlike play

As I watch, I wonder
If there’s anything I could have said or done
To shape the man he’ll be one day

I want him to be the kind of man who sees the Soul
His source of strength and seat of rest
Where dignity and honor show their grace
Where his integrity may be placed.

I want him to be the kind of man who hears the Spirit
The wind that whispers along the way
His quiet concentration towards a guided journey
Intent on a destiny only for the worthy

I want him to be the kind of man who knows the Heart
The fullness of its passions
To be free and not to hide
For it will be his power and his pride

As I wonder, I watch
As what I say and do
Waters the life sprouting right before me
